The need for warm coats
Health experts report that even a 2-degree drop in body temperature results in reduced heart rate, loss of coordination, and confusion. Adults cannot work effectively and children find it difficult to learn. For most, a warm coat solves the problem. But, for the now, nearly 15% of our neighbors living in poverty, a warm winter coat is a budget “extra.”
Clean out your closets and donate your clean, gently-used or new children’s and adult coats, mittens, winter gloves and scarves to make a difference in the daily lives of many local families in need.
Our goal is to collect and distribute 2,000 coats and many other winter clothing items to local families, seniors and individuals.
